You need a bit of space to grow these fab palms.When first planted they may have a spread of around 7-8 metres.
As they mature they develop a trunk which increases every year with new growth flushes.
They have long sharp thorns, so when young & the thorns are reachable they can be a problem.
However their saving grace is they are a very sought after palm for developments & fetch a premium price.
Better than money in the bank if you are prepared to wait for them to mature.
The seeds of this canary island date palm are orange when fresh & oval in shape.
These are not edible date seeds.
Loves full sun & tolerant of many soil types.
